Lead Generation System – Part 5: How We Can Grow the List?

We come to the last part of the lead generation system – growing the list. Until now we find the right persons that means targeted person for our list, implement strategies for collecting contact details that simply mean asking for contact details and start building relationship with persons that become part of our targeted lead database. But, the process of a lead generation system doesn’t end here. As we have mentioned in the first part of this series is that system must have continuity. The continuity means that we must continue with the previously steps for finding, asking and building relationship.

Business-Building

Growing is important part of this system because with growing the leads, we will grow the sales and with sales will grow our business also. Growing the list will bring an always fresh breath into our business. That will grow business potential energy of our business. Because of that it is important to continue with the process of collecting lead contact details. Nothing is a perfect. Some of our leads we will lose in the process of building relationship. But, it is not important. Let him go away. If they don’t want to be connected with us, they probably are not well targeted leads.

As I mention previous leads are something that increases our business potential energy. But, we need that potential energy to be transformed into kinetic energy that means a more sale for our business. That transformation will be made with successful relationship that was subject in the previous part. Because of that, we don’t want to have leads that will misrepresent big business potential energy when the reality is something different.

With a good website, blog and opt-in list, the probability of collecting targeted list is bigger. Because, t type of collecting contact details is permission based. We don’t call them, we don’t ask them but they on their own desire opt-in our list. With well chosen social media for networking and properly using them, we will have a good base for targeted leads.

Why I talk about this when I already talk in the previous parts of this series? Because:

  1. If we really choose highly targeted leads to become a part of our list, and
  2. If we really build a good reputation based upon trust and respect.

Then our current list will be a promoter of our business and will spread good words about us.

Factors That Influence on Growing

I will abstract three factors that have the most important influence on growing our lead database:

Finding New Leads

First, is finding new potential leads. In this system, our task will be always to find new potential leads that will become part of our lead database. Here are four elements that are important for our purpose:

  • Always to come back to the different places that we choose to find the leads. If it is seminars, conferences or trade shows always come back from time to time to collect new contact details.
  • Always to improve chosen places. Improvement means to exclude the places that don’t give us the results and to include new places that will improve the whole process.
  • Always to improve our asking system to increase a conversion rate. This improvement has the purpose to increase a conversion rate of asking that mean to receive more contact details.
  • Using the viral elements to grow the list. With viral elements our lead database will grow with exponential speed. With website and blog this is very simple. But, entrepreneurs are always creative and find and include viral elements at offline places for growing their list.

Retaining Current Leads

How to retain our current leads to stay in our database? When they are in our list, we can try to convert them into customers. If they are satisfied as a part of our system, they can bring new leads. As most important elements in this are:

  • How we welcome to new leads? Welcome message represents the first impression about us and our business. Because of that, the first impression with the welcome message is an important element to retain the current leads. If they recognize something as a bad impression they will leave us before we start building relationship.
  • What’s in It for Them? As always, what they will receive as a part of our list. Is it discounting coupons, or some free stuff, or possibility to be the firs who will try the new products…?
  • How we manage a relationship with them? Managing a relationship is all about building trust and respect in their eyes. With good relationship, they will stay as a part of our list.

Ability to Manage and Grow

As a third part is the ability to manage the current list and in same time to grow the list. Sometimes with growing the list can be forgotten current leads. In this way growing with new leads will cover losing of current leads. Because of that it is important to be focused on two tasks in the same time. With these two processes, the list will be growing continuously.
