T- Minus 5, 4, 3 hours… Are you counting down the hours until home time: STOP!

hours

T-Minus 2, 1, 0- Hometime! Is this really how you should be spending your day? If you’re guilty of this at this moment of time, now’s the time to question why. Unfulfilled, bored, tired, generally fed up, one, two or maybe all of the above. Change it today.

Time flies when you’re having fun…

But work isn’t fun I can hear you say. It can be if you’re working in a field or industry that interests and suits you. Perhaps you’re stuck in a job you dislike as you can’t find anything else that you like?

The main obstacle you have to have to conquer is your own mind. To be happy with what you do you have to seriously assess your strengths, weaknesses, and interests.

It’s likely that your talents are being wasted in a job that doesn’t challenge you on an interesting or intellectual level.

You only have to look at the number of recent graduates not working in the field they studied at university.

Considering the sluggish job market and the lack of prospects for the graduates today it’s not really surprising that many are taking, and are stuck in, low-paid, unskilled work. Not all graduates, however, are settling for second best.

Many are choosing to change their lives today, becoming budding entrepreneurs of the future. Drastic as it may sound, taking the plunge may not be that daunting considering the wealth of information available online and professional bodies out there that can aid you in the process. Professionals can not only offer invaluable advice and strategies but also negate a big chunk of the fear factor.

The only thing to fear is fear itself…

We all place unnecessary obstacles in front of our dreams and ambitions, sometimes through fear or more likely the fear of failure. Many feel that nothing could be possibly worse than their current line of work so there’s not a great deal to lose!

If you’re feeling slightly more tentative about stepping out solo in the big bad world of business, consider carefully the pros and cons. I’d be willing to bet that the pros will outweigh any residual doubts. Concerns over money may be at the top of your list however where there is a will there is a way. Loans, savings and of course the Bank of Mum and Dad may be able to help you out.

If not start small and niche, minimize all outgoings to maximize potential profits and eventually your business will grow if nurtured correctly.

Endless possibilities…

In life there are really endless possibilities but only if you go out and grab opportunities with both hands, arms, legs, whatever it takes to make that opportunity yours, just don’t let it go. Time is of the essence, don’t look back on your life and ponder what if. Make it ‘T- minus zero’ to the beginning of the new you and business.
