Do you want to increase your own productivity? What does that mean for you? Simply, that’s more work done at the same time. How you can succeed in increasing productivity? You need excellent delegation process in place if you want to succeed.
There are several ways that you can use to increase productivity:
- First is to improve yourself through getting organized, improve your skills for the job you have to do, or use technology to help you in doing more things at the same time.
- Second is to increase your working hours that actually can’t be presented as increased productivity. But, if we measure productivity on a daily basis than increasing working hours will increase our daily productivity because we can do more things per day.
- Third thing is to delegate some of our usual daily tasks. If we can delegate some of our tasks, we can add something more important on our to-do list that will improve our productivity.
Let’s talk about delegation as a possible way to increase our time to work on really important stuff for us and our business.
What is Delegation?
When your business starts growing at a large speed, the tasks that you need to do become more complex and different responsibilities among business members become less defined. You need to do more and more things. Disorganization can become a part of your everyday work.
But, with the proper delegation, all organizational members (managerial and non-managerial staff) will benefit.
Delegation is the process when one person transfers some of their tasks to another person.

How to Implement Effective Delegation Process?
As first you need to be aware that you need to delegate some of your tasks. The biggest mistake is when you want to continue to work alone on everything. You are not a superman. You are a normal human being.
Here are the most important steps that can help you to start delegating.
Step 1: Sort the tasks that can be delegated.
You need to analyze and classify what should you continue to do, and what can be delegated. You will not lose anything, because the most important tasks will stay in your full control, but the tasks that are repeatable, easy to be done and still need to be done on one side, and something that’s not so important for your attention can be delegated.
Step 2: Determine who will be in charge.
If you want to delegate some of your tasks, you need to have people who can work on delegated tasks. Simply, find people who will be responsible for some of your current tasks.
Step 3: Define the task that will be delegated.
Before you delegate some of your tasks you need precisely to define that tasks. You don’t want to work on unclear or poorly defined tasks. The same is for the person who will be in charge of that task.
Step 4: Delegate tasks.
The delegation process is transferring the responsibility for the tasks from you to another person through notifying that person. When you tell the person about what he needs to do, you need to tell them your clear expectations. This will be helpful for the person in charge, especially if the delegated task, until now, was only your responsibility.
Step 5: Monitor and encourage.
The delegation process doesn’t finish when you transfer the responsibility. You must follow the implementation process. If there is a need for something, your responsibility is to encourage the person in charge and give him adequate help.
Step 6: Evaluation.
The last step in a delegation process is your responsibility. You need to check how the delegated task was performed. Should you make some changes to increase productivity in the future?
